Yeah.. my 300D has been fixed and will be on the way to SF together with my wife. And the repair cost was not as bad as expected.. under $200. Hopefully this means I will be putting up some more pictures soon.
A Series of Super F^@%&@^%@& Unfortunate Events

The whole thing started the night before my flight to SF. I was packing up and the camera was basically the last thing so I turned it on to check it out and…..cannot power up!@!
After much discussion with my wife, we decided to get a new one instead since the old one could be sold after repairs. So the morning of the flight, I went down to pick up a new 350D and quickly charged up the battery and packed the necessary parts into my camera bag.
I get to the airport, check in and as I’m sitting down for a cup of kopi, I take out the new camera to try it out… and turn it on… and nothing happens!!!
So now I’m stuck in SF with a dead 350d with a dead 300d in Singapore.. and to top it all off, as I’m typing this on a brand new laptop, the esc key pops off by itself….

San Francisco

So I finally reached San Fancisco after an awfully long flight where I tried to keep awake so that when I touched down, I would not have problems sleeping at night.
Met Yun at the airport (he recognized me) and went for dinner at Fishermans Wharf (No Seafood for me!). But the portions here are big man.. Yun ordered a pasta and it came with 21 prawns …
Anyway, despite my best effort to stay awake on the plane and tire myself out, I still woke up at 5.30am today.. which is why I’m in here typing gibberish.
Anyway the room here (Biltmore) is pretty nice (no kitchen though).. will spend the day wandering around with Yun and hopefully update this later today.
Movies watched on the plane:
Alexander (Fell asleep after 15 mins)
Fighter in the Wind (Cos I wanted to watch something to keep me awake)
The Incredibles (Just because)
Closer (Quite an unbelievable storyline)
Assorted odds and ends

Mike was back in town yesterday so some of us managed to meet up for dinner.
Had a fun time catching up about old times and old folks.
Many Little Things….

Just a collection off odd happenings that happened in the office over the week …
Well, first off, we had lunch at funan centre on Monday and as we were leaving, we had to choose from one of 2 bus-stops in the vicinity. Being typically lazy, we chose the nearest one.
Bad move.
Apparently the 2 bus stops, although on the same stretch of road serviced different buses and as luck would have it, the one we picked had only 1 bus back to the office. After waiting a l.o.n.g. time and no bus in sight, my collegue suggests let get on this “next bus and walk back a bit”. Long story short, the bus takes a turn AWAY from the office and we ended up getting off and taking a cab back.
In short, we took both a bus AND a cab to go back to the office which was within walking (15 mins) distance in the first place.
Next day, same collegue splashes water into another collegues face.

Giving directions
by wantunn on Jan.22, 2005, under Ramblings
My wife is the absolute worst person for giving directions. Her sense of direction is great amd she will normally never get lost but she can’t give directions to save her life.
Case in point, we went down to chinatown yesterday night to see the decorations but the car park was super crowded so I asked her to go ahead first with my daughter and mother in law.
After I found a spot, I called her and asked her where they were and the conversation went something like that..
Me: So where are you?
Wife: We’re on the bridge.
Me: The one at Chinatown point?
Wife: No the other bridge.
Me: Which other bridge?
Wife: The one with a lot of decorations lah.
Me: So where is it from the Chinatown point one?
Wife: Just walk towards the light?!?!?!?!?!
I’m looking for my wife and daughter, not having an out of body experience.
To be fair, I’m the exact opposite of my wife. I can give great directions but I could get lost going to the toilet.
At home.

Quote from the book.. “Besides shooting out a big blank from your buttock, you can feel as if your root chakra leaked sweet hot mucus.”
And the truely scary part… Customers who bought this item also bought these items: # The Lord of the Rings – The Two Towers (Platinum Series Special Extended Edition) DVD ~ Elijah Wood
Time for me to hide my copy of LOTR2…wouldn’t want to be mistaken as an Anus constrictor.
After last week’s unfortunate encounter
by wantunn on Nov.18, 2004, under Ramblings
After last week’s unfortunate encounter with the bbt (big black tutu), I had another unfortunate encounter again yesterday at the gym.
Lets just say guys should NOT be wearing tight white body masters shorts/tights that shows up a bbb (big black bulge) in front. They should also really really try to avoid perspiring while dressed like this. It makes the material turn translucent… eeewwwwww.
Excuse me while I go gouge out my eyes.
