More baby wisdom

by on Jul.12, 2006, under Family Time

While trying to wake Cordelia up in the morning, her granny told her the school is going to be closed because she refused to wake up.
Her response.
“Not my fault. The pillow make my eye eye cannot open.”

Wierd stuff around the house

by on Jun.19, 2006, under Family Time

With the impending arrival of baby number 2, we finally caved in and got ourselves a live in maid. We picked her up on Friday and I went out Sat to have dinner with my in-laws. Coming home, I realised my mum had asked the new maid to tidy up my room. What I could not understand was why my surround speakers were all facing the wall. Turns out the maid was dusting and didn’t know which side the sound came out of so she placed it back facing the wall. Doesn’t help that I don’t understand what shes saying and she doesn’t understand me either. Good thing both my folks speak malay (somewhat).
Odd event number 2. We were playing with Cordelia at night when we (thats me and my wife) started feeling sleepy, so we told her to play by herself while we rested. Not 5 minutes later, we heard some loud shuffling, followed by some angry talking, followed by Cordelia crying and scolding “The box so naughty one!”. After some investigation and pacifying, turns out she was playing with the box the laptop came in and she couldn’t put it all back together. She then apparently staretd to have a 1-sided quarrel with the box and lost :P .

Words of wisdom from a (not quite) 4 year old

by on Jun.12, 2006, under Family Time

Somewhere along the streets of Singapore today, I was driving along when my daughter very excitedly told us (thats me and my wife) to “See See. The car standing up!”
Since I was driving I couldn’t see what she was pointing at but after a while, my wife finally saw it and she was pointing at…

A car being towed by a tow truck with the front 2 wheels in the air. Hence “The car is standing up”.

PC Show

by on Jun.03, 2006, under Ramblings

Going to the PC show on a Saturday was a bad bad move… it was so crowded at places I could hardly move. In fact, it was so bad there were signs telling your the crowd was too bad and to come back in an hours time.
Unfortunately I didn’t have an hour so I muscled my way in, got the 250GB HDD I was looking for and zipped straight out after that. The downside is I didn’t have the energy to fight through the crowd and look at the other stuff on display. Oh well, 3 days out of 3 so far for me.

What not to do on the train

by on May.17, 2006, under Ramblings

When taking the train and wearing a thin spandax/lycra body hugging skirt, please take pity on the poor chap a few doors down and avoid doing butt clenching exercises. Do you know how difficult it is to keep from laughing out loud at the sight of to independently moving buttcheeks going up, holding for a second and then coming down at regular intervals?
Especially true if above mentioned skirt is bright lime green in color.

Whose the Boss

by on May.03, 2006, under Family Time

So it’s Saturday and the wife has gone to the doctors. Since she left earlier, Cordelia was still asleep, otherwise she would have a hard time trying to leave.
Anyway, by the time I am leaving to fetch her, Cordelia is awake and she’s having breakfast in the Hall when I leave. The conversation goes like this:
C: Daddy, where are you going?
Me: Daddy need to go work (Won’t be able to leave if she knows I’m going to fetch her mother).
C: Ok, today I not going to school. You can use the car.
Me: ….
So now we know whose the boss :P
