Yosemite
by wantunn on May.12, 2005, under PAD
Taken in Yosemite during my recent trip. The sky was held back with an ND Grad and the weather was absolutely freezing with snow on the ground. Having said that though, the view is absolutely breathtaking and I would definately want to take another trip back there in future.

Finally back in Singapore. Missed my daughter but definately not the weather. Will try to post process my photos from the trip as soon as I’ve cleared up the jetlag and backlog of other stuff.
Working in the Cafe
by wantunn on Apr.29, 2005, under Ramblings
I’m working from URLs today and tomorrow cos I dodn’t bother to arrange for a cubicle space while I am in Sunnyvale.
However, turns out it’s a great place to work cos everything is available here:
- network via wireless
- power sockets on every wall
- free drinks (Coffee, Tea and Soft drinks) are available
- and you can get food easily (it’s a cafe. duh) like pancakes or sandwiches… PANCAKE.. you hear that PANCAKE!!!! whahahahahahhahahahhahahha… err… sorry .. went into mad scientist mode there for a bit.
Anyway, today happened to be bring your child to work day so there were lots of children running around. There were also activity cordinators playing games with the children and a big ass bouncy castle was brought in as well.
The weather is cool… actually it’s great. I can understand people wanting to work here, if only to get away from the hot and humid Singapore weather.

Yeah.. my 300D has been fixed and will be on the way to SF together with my wife. And the repair cost was not as bad as expected.. under $200. Hopefully this means I will be putting up some more pictures soon.
A Series of Super F^@%&@^%@& Unfortunate Events

The whole thing started the night before my flight to SF. I was packing up and the camera was basically the last thing so I turned it on to check it out and…..cannot power up!@!
After much discussion with my wife, we decided to get a new one instead since the old one could be sold after repairs. So the morning of the flight, I went down to pick up a new 350D and quickly charged up the battery and packed the necessary parts into my camera bag.
I get to the airport, check in and as I’m sitting down for a cup of kopi, I take out the new camera to try it out… and turn it on… and nothing happens!!!
So now I’m stuck in SF with a dead 350d with a dead 300d in Singapore.. and to top it all off, as I’m typing this on a brand new laptop, the esc key pops off by itself….

San Francisco

So I finally reached San Fancisco after an awfully long flight where I tried to keep awake so that when I touched down, I would not have problems sleeping at night.
Met Yun at the airport (he recognized me) and went for dinner at Fishermans Wharf (No Seafood for me!). But the portions here are big man.. Yun ordered a pasta and it came with 21 prawns …
Anyway, despite my best effort to stay awake on the plane and tire myself out, I still woke up at 5.30am today.. which is why I’m in here typing gibberish.
Anyway the room here (Biltmore) is pretty nice (no kitchen though).. will spend the day wandering around with Yun and hopefully update this later today.
Movies watched on the plane:
Alexander (Fell asleep after 15 mins)
Fighter in the Wind (Cos I wanted to watch something to keep me awake)
The Incredibles (Just because)
Closer (Quite an unbelievable storyline)
Assorted odds and ends
